About SFK Regnbågen in Sölvesborg

Sportfiskeklubben Regnbågen (SFK Regnbågen) in Sölvesborg is a non-profit association founded in 1978, focused on promoting sport fishing and fishery management in the area around Lake Grundsjön. Since 1991 the club has operated the popular put-and-take fishery in the lake and regularly stocks rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) to ensure exciting catch opportunities year-round. Thanks to the club’s efforts with piers, trails, and facilities at Grundsjön, both beginners and experienced anglers can enjoy a scenic natural experience.

The Club’s Purpose and Activities

SFK Regnbågen actively works to promote sport fishing for all ages and interests. One of its main tasks is to manage the fishery at Lake Grundsjön, which includes stocking fish, maintaining piers and trails, and enforcing fishing regulations. The club is also affiliated with Sportfiskarna, giving members national benefits and contributing to the development of fishing and conservation efforts.

History

The club was officially formed on October 1, 1978 under the name “Tunören”. After a humorous typo in the local press, it was renamed SFK Regnbågen, after the popular rainbow trout stocked in Grundsjön. With support from Sölvesborg Municipality, the club expanded its activities, initially focusing on put-and-take fishing in the lake. Since 1991, SFK Regnbågen has held full responsibility for Grundsjön’s upkeep, and over the years has enhanced the site with additional piers, improved trails, and barbecue areas.

Recurring Events and Activities

SFK Regnbågen organizes several activities and competitions throughout the year. Through regular club meetings, fishing tournaments, and workdays at the lake, the sense of community and interest in sport fishing are strengthened. Some examples include:
